365 Days of Middle-earth ~ Day 102: Ephel Dúath

The Ephel Dúath was a range of jagged peaks – the second greatest in Middle-earth – also known as the Dark Outer-fences of Mordor, or the Mountains of Shadow (or Shadowy Mountains), which stood between Mordor and its enemy, the realm of Gondor. Close to 800 miles in length, the Ephel Dúath created an impassible wall around the western and southern borders of Mordor, running parallel to the Great River and extending far into the lands of Harad. It was also home to the tower of Minas Morgul.

  1. So this was the name of the mountain that Golem knew a secret path through?
